In what city staff is calling a “housecleaning” action, the city of Sequim may find itself a little bit bigger after the next city council meeting.
The Sequim City Council is likely to vote on a proposed 0.69-acre annexation during its July 14 meeting. The parcel is located next to the Booth annexation on Port Williams Road just east of South Sequim Avenue.
The property should have been included in the Booth annexation but somehow was left out, which is why planners are calling the action housecleaning.
The council already has had its first touch on the proposal and did not send it back to the applicant, Frank Schonians, to try and take some of his neighbors into the city as well, which is common on a first touch.
The Sequim Planning Commission made a recommendation of approval to the city council during its July 1 meeting.
