Got extra fruit and veggies?

Is your fruit dropping? WSU Extension is seeing cherries, plums and transparent apples around town ready to be picked. If you or someone you know has fruit that is not being picked, call the Extension office to have volunteer gleaners pick the fruit, bring it to local food banks and take some home for themselves.

Its gleaners pick more than fruit so don’t let those extra vegetables go to rot. Think of the gleaners program throughout the season as your farm or garden starts to produce more than you can eat. To report excess produce or join the gleaners, contact Dan Littlefield at WSU Clallam County Extension, 417-2279.

On Thursday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. at the VFW hall, 169 E. Washington St. in Sequim, there will be a free presentation and Q & A discussion on what creates Post-Tramatic Stress Disorder after experiencing a traumatic event.

Helpful instructions will be given on how to recognize, counteract and minimize PTSD based reactions, when new stressful situations arise in your life.

All are presented in a simple and understandable way. Whether you have been exposed to war, loss of a loved one, divorce or other significant life changing event, this program can help you.
