Business network meetings this month
A business network meeting will be every Wednesday in August from 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m. beginning Aug. 17 at Nourish, 101 Provence View Lane, Sequim.
It’s a gathering of local business owners to network, exchange ideas and help each other grow. It’s great for new and established businesses looking to grow and meet other professionals.
Vendor spaces available for county fair

New nail technician hired
Glamorous Salon, 375 W. Bell St., Sequim, now has added nail services to its full-service menu. Melissa Cary has joined the team as a full-time nail technician. She will provide spa pedicures, manicures, shellac manicures and CND gel enhancements and extensions. Custom nail art is her specialty. Pet advice dispensed
Best Friend Nutrition, 680 W. Washington St., Ste. B102, Sequim, will host another event in its 2016 Talented Friends of Pets speaker series at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, with veterinarian Linda Allen presenting “A Pet-Pouri of Pet Advice.” This is a free event but those wanting to attend should call the store to reserve a seat. Attendees will receive a 10-percent off purchases coupon for shopping on Aug. 20. Allen practices locally in Sequim and has owned her clinic, Pacific Northwest Veterinary Hospital, since 1999.

Learn about your posture
Sequim Gym announces the return of Grace Lambert, certified posture alignment specialist. Lambert will be hosting a workshop on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:45-10:45 a.m., during which she’ll address the question, “What is posture?” She will share how poor posture contributes to chronic pain and various health issues, and participants can uncover their own posture imbalances as they learn how to correct them. Workshops are at Sequim Gym, 160 E. Bell St. Lambert is a former NASM certified personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist and senior fitness specialist. Nippon Paper for sale
The paper mill that has anchored Ediz Hook for 98 years is for sale.
The Peninsula Daily News reports the Nippon Paper Industries USA plant and the company’s newly built biomass cogeneration plant west of downtown Port Angeles are being marketed for sale by PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance LLC in southwest British Columbia.
There is no sign the mill, which employed 160 as of June 2015, would be closed, Port Angeles City Manager Dan McKeen said.
PWC Managing Partner Rishi Kapoor invited the Port of Port Angeles to consider purchasing Nippon in a July 25 email to port Executive Director Karen Goschen.
Karol’s to close
Karol’s Accessories Boutique, at 609 W. Washington St., is closing on Sept. 20. All gift certificates will be honored up to that date, owners say. The boutique is open 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesdays. Call 683-8784.
