Kudos to merchants

Kudos to merchants

A thank you goes out to the following businesses for their participation in the recent Clallam County Fair Merchant Display: John L. Scott Real Estate, Sequim; Sound Community Bank, Port Angeles; Olympic Stationers, Port Angeles; Clallam Bay-Sekiu Visitor Center and Chinook Pharmacy, Forks.

Lewis a ‘priceless asset’

Sequim is losing a treasure.

Brian Lewis, Director of Business Operations for the Sequim School District, is leaving town.

As a regular attendee of school board meetings for years, I have seen him:

1. Keep Sequim schools solvent through the good years and bad, levy or no levy,

2. Present budget reports even a layman can understand, and

3. Ace his audits consistently.

He has been a priceless asset and as a community, our loss is great.

PC-ness a disease

In the early 1960s in the liberal slime of UC Berkeley emerged the evil of “political correctness,” an abomination that has metastasized into a cultural cancer impossible to cure; in my opinion PC is the primary evil besetting our society today.

Now to the present: Every four years the citizenry of the United States is forced to endure the manifest collective emergence (like moths to a candle) of presidential politicians and enough hot air to fill every balloon at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival.

Except presently, for one candidate who has absolutely refused to kowtow to PC or recognized political discourse and for that is being vilified by every entrenched political organization (including his own party) and politically recognized individual in the country.

A parable: Donald Trump could leave Trump Tower, walk out to the Statue of Liberty and return for his morning exercise. The following morning the headline in the New York Times would read: “Trump can’t swim!” The man cannot get a break.

Now the rub, in my opinion, in this election the Presidential candidates are a side show, what we are voting for this November is the Supreme Court of the United States.

A vote for Hillary Clinton, either directly or in opposition to the pronouncements of Donald Trump, is a vote for the establishment of a Supreme Court with a majority of Modern Progressive Liberals and all the evils that ideology embraces.

That court will endure for at least the remaining lifespans of all who have taken the time to read this letter. To me that is a terrifying outcome.
