Sheriff’s officers earn promotions

On April 22, Clallam County Sheriff Bill Benedict held a ceremony to promote Deputy Ed Anderson and Detective Shaun Minks to the position of Patrol Sergeant.

Anderson has been serving as the acting sergeant in the west end of Clallam County since November 2015. He started as a patrol deputy with the Sheriff’s Office on June 27, 2004 and has lived and worked as the resident Clallam Bay/Sekiu deputy since that time. Before coming to Clallam County, Anderson worked as a deputy for the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and police officer for the City of Vader. He is a hostage negotiator and forensic child interviewer.

Anderson will continue serving the citizens who live in the west end of Clallam County as a patrol sergeant.

Minks was hired as a patrol deputy on July 18, 2007 and on Nov. 1, 2015, he was transferred to Detectives. Minks is a Port Angeles High School graduate who enlisted in the Army after graduation, serving tours in Iraq and Kosovo.

Anderson is a field training Officer, member of the Tactical Tracking Team, a firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor, Simunition and use of force simulator operator/instructor.
