Playwright Michael Frayn finds that behind the scenes is funnier than in the front so he created “Noises Off” with the intention of reflecting life backstage and on.
That’s the focus of the Port Angeles Community Players current production “Noises Off,” which runs at 7:30 p.m. April 29-30, May 3, 6-7, 10, 13-14, and 2 p.m. May 1, 8, 15, at the Playhouse, 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
“Noises Off,” led by Mark Lorentzen, follows a troupe of misfit, past their prime, and not quite to their prime actors who are about to open in a play called “Nothing On.”
Lorentzen says that the cast, Pete Christensen, Ron Graham, Danielle Lorentzen, Josh McLean, Anna Pederson, Jeremy Pederson, Annie Robertson, Sharah Truett and Ken Winters, have to know where they are at all times, with a front, a back, a down, a door slam, a fall, and sets of stairs and two different dialects!
Tickets are $14 for adults and $7 for students and children and may be purchased in advance for Tuesday performances at the regular prices or at the door for $7. Advanced tickets are available at Odyssey Bookshop, 114 W. Front St, or online at www.pacommunityplayers.com. If tickets remain, they will be available at the door. The play contains adult language and subject matter.
