Actors with Helen Haller Elementary PTO’s drama club delve into poetry’s funny bone this week recreating Shel Silverstein’s popular poems for the stage.

From “Crocodile’s Toothache” to “Sara Cynthia Sylvia Stout!” to “Little Abigail and the Beautiful Pony,” about 40 students act out several of Silverstein’s poems from his books at 7 p.m. Friday, April 22, and 2 p.m Saturday, April 23.

Director Becky Mitchell said they started working on the poems in February and that students chose their partners and came up with most of their own stage directions.

Admission is free with donations accepted for future programming.
