Trish Bekkevar will present the history of the Bekkevar Farm at the Clallam County Historical Society’s History Tales presentation.
The program is at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at the First United Methodist Church, 110 E. Seventh St., Port Angeles. Parking and entry to the church’s social hall are on Laurel Street.
Anyone who has traveled on U.S. Highway 101 east of Blyn has seen the Bekkevar Farm. The beauty of the property inspired Olaf Bekkevar to settle on the 40 acres of timberland in 1910.
For the past 100-plus years, Bekkevars have lived on, maintained and cherished their family farm.
Dick Bekkevar, one of Olaf’s sons, married Winona Lotzgesell — another well-known name in county history — in 1946.
Their son Dave married Trish in 1980.
Trish Bekkevar, an avid genealogist and historian, will share stories of the Bekkevar family and talk about the farm’s history, where it is today and plans for the future.
History Tales is free and open to the public.
