Clallam Transit System executive office manager and clerk to the board Mary E. Bower, CMC, was honored for her public service during the transit board’s March meeting in Sequim.

Deputy Clerk Bobbie Usselman with the City of Sequim presented Bower with the Washington Municipal Clerks Association 2016 President’s Award of Distinction. Usselman had accepted this award for Bower because Bower was unable to attend. Usselman was a classmate of Bower’s in the three years of professional development institutes to earn a Certified Municipal Clerk designation through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma.

Bower is also an elected commissioner with Clallam County Fire District No. 4, in her fourth six-year term. She also serves as secretary to the district’s five-member board as prescribed in state statute for as many years.
