Richard “Dick” McClammy III passed away at his Sequim home November 18, 2014.
He was born November 15, 1929 in San Diego, California. to Richard and Fern McClammy.
He lived there until leaving for Aurora College in 1948 where he met and married
Mary Lou Ferrier.
He joined the New York Life Insurance Company
in 1953 and earned a Chartered Life Underwriter degree as well as a Chartered Financial Consultant degree.
After retiring in 1983, as General Manager of the Spokane office, he and Mary Lou purchased a ranch in Baker, Oregon.
In addition to cattle, they started a small business selling products to truck stops. In 1994 they moved to Goldendale, Washington to expand their business nationwide.
He served for several years as a volunteer lobbyist in Washington D.C. working on behalf of the trucking industry.
The business was sold in 1999 and in 2007 they moved to Sequim, Washington.
Dick loved nature, gardening and working in the yard.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife Mary Lou and four children; Patricia Luman, Margaret Parry, Dr Thomas McClammy and Joanne Larson as well as eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great grand-children.
His wife and children were the main focus of his life. He will be greatly missed.
