Charles Fred Blum Jr.
November 13, 1933 – July 15, 2014
A man of great impact, loyal love & humble spirit was lost to us on July 15, 2014 after an accident causing a severe brain injury.
“Chuck,” as his friends and family call him, was married to the loved of his life of 60 years, Barbara Lois Powers.
Chuck was born in Wheeling, West Virginia November 13, 1933 and ultimately moved to Antioch, California just before high school where he met his beloved and asked her to dance.
It was in 1954 that Chuck & Barb wed and settled
in Palmdale, California where they raised their three wonderful children, Pam (Cory), Patti (Kevin), and Greg (Connie).
Chuck served in the United States Air Force for 5 years and then worked in the US Army Test Activity Division at Edwards Air Force Base for 34 years, where he was able to enjoy his deep passion for flight.
Chuck & Barb have been blessed with 10 grandchildren, & 20 great grandchildren over the years. He was the kind of grandfather a child could only dream about; he was playful, patient, wise and supportive in every aspect with all of his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Chuck & Barb moved to Sequim in 1988 where they en- joyed their retirement together. It was the perfect place where he could entertain his many hobbies of sailing the seas, fishing & crabbing on his boat with his grandsons, playing cards with friends and family and learning every new aspect of this new region.
Chuck was a lifelong member of Masonic Lodge and then in retirement also became a member of the Olympic Peninsula Anglers Club.
Chuck will be beyond missed by his family and friends, as this was a man whose presence was a constant comfort. The powerful ripples of his lifetime will be felt for eternity.
Private Services will be held in Montana in August, 2014.
