Henry Alan “Pete” Church-Smith
June 13, 1942 – November 4, 2015
Pete Church-Smith lived life with courage and grace…as a husband, as a Marine, as a friend, and even in the face of prolonged illnesses.
A 73 year old resident of Sequim, Washington, he passed away November 4, 2015.
Pete was born to Herbert W. Church-Smith and Elsia Marie Bottle in Smithville Flats, New York on June 13, 1942.
He married Diane “Missy” DeJulio Church-Smith
December 27, 1966 in New Rochelle, New York.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964 as a Corporal E4 in radio relay. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and a Masters in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He was also a Certified Financial Planner.
Pete was the type of man that looked forward to
each new opportunity. He embraced 3 careers; sales, business owner and certified financial planner, and lived in six different states. He raced and cruised 4 sailboats, loved scuba diving, crossed the country on his motorcycle and so much more. Life was an adventure to be enjoyed!
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Sequim Bay Yacht Club, The Patriot Guard Riders and The Peninsula Outriders.
He is survived by his wife Missy; brothers Bill (DeeDee) Church-Smith, and Russ (Esther) DeJulio; sister-in-law Annette DeJulio and sister Patricia (Mark) Dunn.
A Rosary will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple St, Sequim. Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. the same day, officiated by Father Dennis Robb, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
