Howard Donald Casey

August 27, 1939 – August 19, 2014

Howard Donald Casey was born on August 27, 1939 in Phoenix City, Alabama, to Howard Taft and Lorraine Casey.

His sister, Elaine, and brothers, Herman, Lloyd and James Milton all survive him.

He graduated from Auburn University with a major in secondary education and a minor in science/social studies, and was a commissioned officer NROTC U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1961 through 1967 and a JAG lawyer from1965 through 1967.

He received his master’s degree from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, in 1970, and paralegal certificate from Phoenix College, Phoenix, in December of 1993.

He 48 years practical experience umpiring memberships in National Umpires Associations (NUA), was a Babe Ruth League Associate Member, Association of Minor League Umpires, Peninsula Umpires Association (PUA).

Howard became a Christian as a young teenager during an Evangelist Crusade led by Chester A. Swor. He was ordained at Royal Palms Baptist Church in Phoenix, Arizona, on February 4, 1968. He was ordained a second time at First Baptist Church in Sequim in 2004.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Winnie Casey.

A memorial service is planned for October 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church.
