Emily Soltis Leamy

Emily Soltis Leamy, age 91, passed away in Sequim, Washington on January 5, 2015.
She was born to Joseph and Mary Soltis on August 14, 1923 in Charlevoix, Michigan.
Emily lived in Chicago, Illinois, and on June 26, 1957 was married to Arthur J. Leamy, a widower with two sons.
Emily and Arthur Leamy moved to Sequim, Washington from Mokena, Illinois in 1967.
They were active members of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Emily was a loving and devoted wife to Arthur for over 25 years.
She was talented, generous and a good friend, sister, and aunt.
She loved creating homemade projects and planting flowers and trees. She was uncomplaining and had a sense of adventure. Her favorite activity was exploring, and she enjoyed being with her family and friends. She will be missed.
During the last years of her life, Emily resided at Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation of Sequim where she participated in many craft programs and made friends through her pleasant and friendly nature. Staff were repeatedly heard to say that they wished they could “clone” her.
She is survived by her sons Arthur J. (Rita) Leamy Jr. of Downer’s Grove, Illinois and Richard J. (Anne) Leamy of Delton, Michigan; grandchildren Stephen, Martin, Kevin, Mary Beth, Margaret, Susan, Diane, Rick, Scott, Jeanette and Micheal; seventeen grandchildren; nephews Francis and Roy Soltis, and Gary Wagner; Nieces Sheila Griffith and Susan O’Donnell; and several great nieces and nephews.
