A Sequim business earned big kudos for its employment practices.
Sequim Quality Inn (134 River Road) was presented with Morningside’s 2016 Outstanding Employer Award.
Morningside CEO Jim Larson presented the award to Sequim Quality Inn staffers on Jan. 19.
Morningside is a public benefit corporation — a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Community Rehabilitation Program — providing employment services to individuals with disabilities.
Jon Toliver, Morningside lead consultant for the Clallam County service area, said when Morningside representatives consider the award they “generally look at an employer who understands what our mission is for integration in employment … a willingness to give opportunities.”
Clallam Transit System took home last year’s award.
