Police arrested a man wanted on multiple burglary and other charges early Thursday morning, March 9.

Jonathon Heckathorn, 25, was arrested in a vehicle stop after Port Angeles Officer Luke Brown observed a vehicle on Front Street allegedly missing a valid license plate and having an “illegible temporary plate/trip permit,” according to a news release from the Port Angeles Police Department.

Heckathorn was booked into the Clallam County jail on the following warrants: a felony bench warrant for two previous counts of burglary, a misdemeanor warrant for violation of a domestic violence no-contact order and malicious mischief third-degree-domestic violence, and a second misdemeanor warrant for violation of a domestic violence no-contact order.

He was also booked on additional new charges of investigation of first-degree burglary, theft of a firearm, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, theft in the first degree, second-degree theft-access device and second-degree vehicle prowl. Those charges stem from investigations by the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the jail roster, he has no bond.

As late as Feb. 27, the sheriff’s office had announced a search for Heckathorn on outstanding felony warrants and as a suspect in recent residential burglaries. He had also been featured on the Q13 Fox television show “Washington’s Most Wanted.”

The sheriff’s office said he had been suspected of “numerous” property crimes, including residential burglary and theft of firearms. He was alleged to frequent Port Angeles and Joyce.

On Thursday morning, police allegedly stopped the gold 1997 Lexus LS in the 900 block of West Front Street and recognized him as a passenger in the front seat.

He was detained and taken into custody for the warrants for his arrest.
