Alice S. DePrez
Alice DePrez was born in 1922 in Papillion, Nebraska to parents Margaret (Mohr) and Fred Stellges. She graduated from high school and attended secretarial school before moving to Omaha to work for an insurance company. Several years later she and older sister Lucille adventurously moved to Portland, Oregon.
Alice met her future husband, Robert DePrez, through correspondence during World War II. They were married in Portland in August 1946, and raised their family there.
She was a wonderful homemaker and involved parent and grandparent. Over the years she created many clothes and crafts for her family. She also worked for years as a paraeducator at Ventura Park Elementary School.
In 2013 she moved to Sequim to be near her son and daughter. Her last few years were spent as a resident of Sherwood Assisted Living. Despite declining health and eyesight she remained a sweet and kind person to all.
She is survived by her son Daniel DePrez and daughter Marsha (Gordon) Omdal of Sequim and grandchildren Nathan (Holly) Omdal and Benjamin Omdal of Seattle, Karina (Emmett) Swank of Bellingham, and Reed Omdal of Salt Lake City.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, brother Don Stellges, and sisters Evelyn Stellges and Lucille Martin.
There will be a private family gathering in Portland, OR at a later date.
