Sheriff’s office earns re-accreditation

On May 24, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office was presented a plaque recognizing the agency for successfully completing a rigorous on-site review of over 130 standards relating to best policing practices. CCSO was one of seven law enforcement agencies recognized for achieving accreditation or re-accreditation this year at the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs spring conference at the Spokane Convention center from May 21-25.

Clallam County received initial accreditation in 2009; this is the second accreditation representing eight continuous years of compliance with standards, statutes and best practices. The re-accreditation effort was led by administrative coordinator Lorraine Shore.

Accepting the honor are were Undersheriff Ron Cameron, Chief Corrections Deputy Ron Sukert, Chief Ken Hohenberg (WASPC president), Sheriff Bill Benedict and Corrections Sgt. Wendy Peterson.
