Sequim Karaoke Idol crowns new king at Music in the Park

For the sixth annual Sequim Karaoke Idol, Lyle Hagen came out on top.

Hagen went against 11 other contestants on Aug. 8 and won $100 by singing “Keep Your Hands to Yourself” by The Georgia Satellites and Brooks &Dunn’s “Boot Scootin’ Boogie.” After winning, he sang Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”

Jessica Cole won $50 for second place and Becky Kuhns $25 for third place. The event was part of the City of Sequim’s Music in the Park program at the James Center for the Performing Arts in Carrie Blake Park, 350 N. Blake Ave.

Other participants were Lisa Wentworth, Lily May and Zoe Baumann, Dick Berryman, Jim and Tami Gilbertson, Leann Peterson, Sid Vandiver, and Benjamin Scott.
