The Board of Clallam County Commissioners has several openings on advisory boards and committees.

Agricultural Commission (5)
Acts in an advisory capacity to research agricultural issues, provide information and convey the interests and desires of farmers and others in the agricultural community to the Board of Commissioners. There are openings for representatives of farmer in Commissioner District II, farmer in Commissioner District III, at-large farmer and two non-farmer At-large.
Animal Issues Advisory Committee (6)
Serves as a liaison between the county and the contractor for animal shelter services and as an objective, fact-finding body when the board, the contractor or the Sheriff’s Office requests the advice of the committee. There are openings for a representative of District I, District III, tribal government, veterinarian, equine and Friends of Forks Animals.
Boundary Review Board (4)
Autonomous board that, upon request by any jurisdiction affected by a boundary change such as an annexation proposal, reviews the proposal and has broad powers to determine logical boundaries, transfer of services and other matters operating under the authority of RCW 36.93. There are openings for two representatives of governor appointee, cities appointee and special district appointee.
Building Code Board of Appeals (2)
Hears and decides appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the building official relative to the application and interpretation of the codes adopted in Clallam County Code 21.01, Building and Construction Code. There are openings for representatives of architect and an alternate.
Carlsborg Community Advisory Council (3)
Acts as a liaison between the citizens in the Carlsborg UGA and the Board of Commissioners for gathering and analyzing information and making recommendations regarding community and growth management issues. There are openings for representatives of a resident of a manufactured/mobile home park community with in Carlsborg UGA, a business or real property owner within the Carlsborg Village Center and an at-large member who is a real property owner within the UGA boundary.
Crescent Community Advisory Council (3)
This committee acts as a liaison between the citizens living in the Crescent School District area and the Board of Commissioners on issues that may include land use, economic development, transportation and pedestrian improvements, capital projects and services, and community projects and activities. There is an opening for a representative of Crescent School District, Crescent School District Alternate, Crescent School District Student Body and Crescent School District Student Body Alternate.
Developmental Disabilities Advisory Committee (3)
Volunteers act in an advisory capacity to plan and make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners and the Department of Health and Human Services regarding programs and services for persons who have mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, other neurological impairments or developmental disabilities and their families through service contracts with provider agencies. There are openings for representatives of three committee member positions.
Heritage Advisory Board (2)
The board is responsible for advising the Clallam County commissioners on various matters related to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the county. There are openings for representatives of District II and District III.
Homelessness Task Force (3)
The board is responsible for advising the Clallam County commissioners on various matters related to the issues regarding homelessness in Clallam County. There are openings for representatives of tribal government and two homeless or formerly homeless.
North Olympic Library System (1)
The North Olympic Library System provides public library services to Clallam County and is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees. There is an opening for a representative of one member position.
North Pacific Coast Marine Resources (1)
Assists in understanding, stewarding and restoring the marine and estuarine ecological processes of the North Pacific coast of Washington within the boundaries of Clallam and Jefferson counties in support of ecosystem health, sustainable marine resource-based livelihoods, cultural integrity and coastal communities. Members represent conservation/environmental groups, recreational groups, economic groups and the scientific community. There is an opening for a Hoh Tribe member.
Permit Advisory Board (5)
Makes recommendations to the Board of Commissioners and director of the Department of Community Development for changes in the building code and permitting. There are openings for representatives of building trades, certified septic designer/installer, homebuilders’ association, manufactured homes/mobile home association and land surveyor.
Port Crescent Pioneer Cemetery (1)
The board was established in 1974 to operate the Port Crescent Pioneer Cemetery. There is one opening for one member.
Sheriff’s Citizens Advisory Committee (7)
Advisory to the Sheriff’s Office to provide an open link of communication between the Sheriff and the community. There are openings for representatives of Clallam Bay/Sekiu, Forks and unincorporated area, Quileute Tribe, Makah Tribe, Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and at-large.
Solid Waste Advisory Committee (1)
This committee is comprised of representatives of each of the incorporated cities, the waste industry, tribal councils, Clallam County, state and federal agencies, private industry and at-large. The committee assists in the implementation of programs and policies concerning solid waste handling and disposal, and reviews and comments on proposed changes to the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan. There is an opening for representative of the business community.
Trails Advisory Committee (1)
Makes recommendations to the board and other appointed bodies of Clallam County government regarding non-motorized transportation and trail-related issues. There are openings for representatives of large private forest company.
