Bistro changes hours, adds wood-fired night

Alder Wood Bistro has moved to fall hours. The restaurant at 139 W. Alder St. serves lunch 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and dinner 4:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday through Saturday.

AlderWood has added wood-fired oven night on Wednesdays starting Oct. 11, serving customers from 4:30-8 p.m. with a limited menu of items from its wood-fired oven.

Sales associate/assistant joins Pondicherri

Pondicherri, a 24-year-old Sequim retail and wholesale business at 119 E. Washington St., welcomes Susan Smith to the staff. Smith has several years of retail experience and is enthusiastic about learning both the retail and wholesale aspects of our operation. She likes pickleball and serves on the Sequim Parks and Recreation board, among other activities.

The store is open 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Deadline nears for Business Showcase

The deadline for the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming Business Showcase is Friday Oct. 13.

The 11th-annual “Experience the Crown Jewels of Our Community” event is set for 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Sunland Golf & Country Club, 109 Hilltop Dr. Vendor booths are $75, or $37.50 for food/beverage vendors providing 150-plus samples.

For the veterans

Red Carpet Car Wash, 231 Valley Center Place, Carlsborg, will donate all proceeds from customers who are veterans to the Sequim VFW Post 4760 on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

In addition, employees are donating 40 percent of their tips to the VFW that day.
