Milestone: Toastmasters welcomes new member

Skwim Toastmasters recently welcomed new member Jeff Tingelstad, a broker at JACE Real Estate.

Tingelstad and his wife moved to Sequim in 2016.

Vice President of Education Lindy MacLaine said, “We’re delighted to have Jeff join us. Like many Toastmasters, he seems outwardly shy — but put him in front of the room, and wow! He’s funny and articulate. Already he’s brought new energy to the club.”

Born in Bremerton, Tingelstad grew up in Poulsbo. In 2011, while teaching fourth grade at an international school in Hanoi, Vietnam, he became involved with a fledgling Toastmasters club for the first time.

“Last fall,” Tingelstad explains, “being relatively new to Sequim, I was looking for a fun way to meet people, when I saw the club listing.” He adds, “Honing my presentation skills has already been useful at work.”

Skwim Toastmasters is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide nonprofit educational organization empowering individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. The Sequim club meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 7-8:15 p.m. at The Gathering Place in Sunland, 137 Fairway Dr., Sequim. Guests are always welcome.
