Downtown gets a grocery April 16

Red Rooster specializes in fresh produce, grass-fed beef

The Red Rooster Grocery, 1341/2 W. Washington St. (enter on side of building through Seal Street Park) officially opens for business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Friday, April 16.

This small grocery offers a variety of foods, focusing on locally grown and locally produced items including;

  • Produce from Johnston Farms, Lazy J Tree Farm, Fairaview Farm, Headwater Vineyard, A New Leaf, Nash’s Organic Produce and more
  • Grass-fed, hormone/antibiotic-free beef from Clark Farms
  • Milk from The Dungeness Valley Creamery
  • Coffee from Rainshadow Roasting Co. and Princess Valiant Coffee
  • Cheese from Fairaview Farm and The Wild Harvest Creamery
  • Chocolate from Chocolate Serenade and Yvonne’s Chocolates
  • Fresh-cut bouquets in season from The Cutting Garden
  • Baked goods of all kinds including fresh-baked cinnamon rolls and cookies
  • Fresh soups daily by Sweet Anna’s Soups
  • Wine and beer
  • Syrups, jams, sauces, vinegar, honey and spices
  • The Red Rooster Grocery also will carry;
  • Organic grocery and gourmet food items.
  • Plants including vegetable starts, bedding plants and hanging baskets from A New Leaf and other local growers, and a large selection of seeds including many heirloom and organic varieties from Seed Savers Exchange, Irish Eyes Garden Seeds and Fedco Seeds.
  • Kitchen and cooking products, handmade soaps, greeting cards and gift items.

Hours are 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
