Landing Mall changes ownership
The Landing Mall, located on the downtown Port Angeles waterfront at 115 Railroad Ave., changed hands on March 30, when the estate of Paul Cronauer — through Port Angeles Landing LLC — conveyed it to Seattle-based real estate professional Erik Marks, through The Landing and Wharf LLC. The property includes the 46,000-square-foot main building and the 2,200-square-foot Chamber of Commerce building. Among its 16 tenants are such notables as National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Washington Attorney General’s office, Downrigger Restaurant, Smuggler’s Landing Restaurant and Wine on the Waterfront.
Marks, who has been working for two years to learn about and take over ownership of the property, said he has an “unwavering commitment to transforming and enlivening the town landmark,” as noted in a March 30 press release.
Though Marks’ primary residence and business are located in Seattle, he said he spends much of his time and has increasing commitments in Port Angeles.
“My heart is on the peninsula,” Marks said. “My mom lives just a few blocks from the Landing Mall. I built a cabin near Joyce and spend much of my time here.”
Cronauer, a Port Angeles developer, purchased the property from the Port of Port Angeles in 2006.
