Sequim saxophonist Craig Buhler returns to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., for its final Music Live with Lunch of the season.

For the special show on Tuesday, May 15, the 30-minute performance begins at 3 p.m. followed by dessert in the church’s parish hall.

Buhler’s show focuses on encouragement, he says, and will include at least two of his original songs “Wings of the Dawn” based on Psalm 139 and 1 Thessalonians, and “Clouds of Heaven” based on portions of the book of Daniel.

For this show, he’ll be accompanied on piano by Steven Mangiamelli, contemporary service worship leader, at Sequim Bible Church where Buhler leads traditional service worship music.

Buhler has been a fixture of the Olympic Peninsula music scene for more than 15 years directing The Stardust Dance Band, The Camp Heebie Jeebies Big Bands, The Dungeness Christian Music Workshop, The Carmel Big Band Workshop, and one of the two Northwest Big Band Workshop ensembles.

He has been featured with singers Sarah Shea, Elinore O’Connell, and Greta Matassa, with Peninsula Friends of Music Performance, The Friends of Brubeck, and with his own jazz combo. Buhler also served as a charter member of the band HONK, which toured with The Beach Boys and released several albums.

Music Live with Lunch started more than 30 years ago as a musical outreach to the community with proceeds supporting local and global concerns. This season encompassed both luncheon and tea formats and concludes with an afternoon concert. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased in advance or at the door.
