• Sept. 14
The Cabin Fever Quilt Club hosts their annual show on Sept. 14 and 15 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Port Townsend; hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with an entry donation of $5 (kids 12 and younger are free). • Sept. 15
Check out one-the-water fun, grab a bite, hear some live music AND raise funds for a good cause at the Reach and Row for Hospice and Waterfront Day. Hosted at Sequim’s John Wayne Marina, 2577 W. Sequim Bay Road, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, the event has grown into a full-on festival with highlights on the water (rowing, sailboat races) and land (bands, food, information booths). • Sept. 16
Experience the Jefferson County Farm Tour, set this year for 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Sept. 15-16. Each year the tour draws thousands of visitors eager to experience a working farm and connect with local farmers. • Sept. 17
Go for sweets on this, the final Monday of the summer. Treat yourself to some ice cream or frozen yogurt at one of many places around town, such as The Sweet Spot, Hurricane Coffee, Dairy Queen and or other restaurants around Sequim.
• Sept. 18
On one of the final days of summer, get out and do a driving (or riding/pedaling/running) tour of our fair town. Idyllic “cruise” spots include: along Sequim Bay via East and West Sequim Bay Road; local farmlands via Schmuck, Port Williams and Holland roads; the Strait of Juan de Fuca via Marine Drive, Jamestown Road and 3 Crabs Road; and the foothills of the Olympics, via Happy Valley, Taylor Cut-Off/Lost Mountain and Palo Alto roads. For a bit more adventure, cruise west and take the scenic route along Highway 112 to Clallam Bay and Neah Bay.
• Sept. 19
Check out the Miller Peninsula property, set aside at one point in the mid-2000s for Miller Peninsula State Park. It features miles of looping trail that eventually (in 4 miles) gives way to Thompson Spit, a small, isolated beach with views of Protection Island. Access the trails at a trailhead off East Sequim Bay Road just past Burling Road. Or, take a right on Panorama Boulevard to get to Panorama Vista County Park and do some beach-walking west on Travis Spit, gaining unobstructed views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north and Sequim Bay to the south.
• Sept. 20
Check out The Jim Hoffman Band, a local favorite playing “cool country,” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at 7 Cedars Casino’s Club Seven, 270756 US Highway 101.
• Sept. 21
Catch a flick or a half-dozen at the Port Townsend Film Festival that kicks of on Friday, Sept. 21 — the last day of summer. It’s also International Peace Day, so chill out if you don’t get the primo seats or your popcorn is cold, ok? www.ptfilmfest.com
