Create a small piece of art to be traded with other book lovers at Artist Trading Card events at the North Olympic Library System.

Get creating from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

A session is also set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are small, original works of art that are made to be traded with other artists/crafters. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5-by-3.5 inches, the size of a standard playing card. The theme is “reading/library/literary love.”

Supplies will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring any materials they would like to include.

ATCs are always traded, never sold. Sign, title and date your cards on the back.

This program is open to teens and adults.

Each participant will make six duplicate cards: one to be displayed at NOLS and five to be sent out across the country to one of 11 other participating libraries. The library receives cards back by early November and they will be displayed as part of the Port Angeles Art in the Library exhibit through Jan. 23, 2019.

When the program is complete, participants may pick up their card and receive exchanged cards from other libraries.
