Sequim I.T. adds Burton to staff
Kitsap Networking Services, Inc. and Sequim I.T. announced last week the hiring of Jacob Burton as the company’s newest full-time technician.
A long-time resident of Port Angeles, Burton’s focus will be servicing clients out of the Sequim I.T. branch office at 136 S. Second Ave.
Representatives from Kitsap Networking Services say Burton has spent much of his professional career working in the Sequim community and that he has a strong background in information technology after handled I.T. for his family’s business — the Port Angeles-based Burton Flooring.

Tourism grants available
The Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau is seeking applications for qualified tourism project grants, primarily targeted to off-peak season activities within Clallam County.
The bureau awards Tourism Enhancement Grants four times during the year. The final 2018 grant deadline is Nov. 9. Applications will be considered for funding by the bureau’s board of directors at their Monday, Nov. 19 meeting.
Tourism Enhancement Grants support tourism marketing, collateral production, promotion of area festivals and events and website development, primarily within Clallam County. Amma’s Umma sets opening
Port Angeles’ newest boutique, Amma’s Umma, hosts a grand opening from 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at 129 E. First St. A ribbon cutting is set for 1 p.m. The first 60 guests get a cake pop and a sparkling drink.
Amma’s Umma is a curation of intentionally sourced items from the U.S. and ethically sourced products from across the globe, says owner Chelsea Winfield of Sequim. The business is “a boutique by women, for women,” Winfield says.
