Vision Works IP assigned patent
Vision Works IP has been assigned a patent (9,371,002) developed by Fritz Braunberger of Sequim for an “absolute acceleration sensor for use within moving vehicles.”
The patent application was filed on July 24, 2014.
1st Security Bank donates to B&G club
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula received a donation from 1st Security Bank in May. Personal account representative Melissa Petrina coordinated a Sock & Block fundraising effort involving the staff and the customers of the Sequim branch.
The campaign resulted in hundreds of pairs of socks for youths at the club and dozens of bottles of sunscreen. The block will be used during summer camps, field trips and out on site when delivering summer meals to needy children. Supplies included personal sample sizes that can be given to children needing a sunblock at home.
New hours at WeDoFudge
The WeDoFudge drive-thru stand, 11 Valley Center Place, Sequim, will be closed for vacation the week of July 11. During Sequim Lavender Weekend you can find its fudge at many of the lavender farms, Forage Gifts and Northwest Treasures, The Good Book or Agnew Grocery. When it reopens on July 19, new hours will be noon-6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.
Realty firm recognized for sales
RE/MAX Prime, 901 W. Washington St., Sequim, has received an award from the RE/MAX Pacific Northwest Region for achieving the prestigious distinction of earning Single Office closed sales over $70 million for 2015.
Wilder shop earns top award
AAA Washington announces that Wilder Auto Group, 53 Jetta Way, Port Angeles, is being recognized as a AAA Top Shop. Best Friend presents speaker
Best Friend Nutrition will launch its “2016 Talented Friends of Pets” speaker series with a presentation by veterinarian Dr. Anna Maria Gardner at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9.
The program, “The Key Benefits of Homeopathy & Flower Essences for Pets” also will include some useful, practical examples of remedies that attendees can use at home. This program is free to the public but it’s requested that you call for reservations at 681-8458.
Best Friend Nutrition also will provide a discount shopping coupon to all attendees.
Book, wine sampling on tap
The North Olympic Library System and Camaraderie Cellars host a book and wine sampling event at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the winery, 334 Benson Road, Port Angeles. At each tasting station, participants will sample one great book and one of Camaraderie’s artisanal Northwest wines. Space is limited at this free event and registration is required.
