The Sequim Association of Realtors installed its board of directors for 2019 during the organization’s annual awards banquet and installation of officers in December.

Michael McAleer of RE/MAX Prime will serve as President.

“I look forward to leading the organization in the coming year and carrying out SAR’s mission to support our schools and those who need help the most in the community we serve,” McAleer said.

“Additionally, in 2019, our members will focus on an initiative to help to unlock the door to home ownership by advocating for affordable and accessible housing policies and continue their work to protect private property rights.”

Other members serving on the executive leadership team are: Vice President, Marcus Oden (RE/MAX Prime); Immediate Past President, Tyler Conkle (Windermere-Sunland); Treasurer, Mark McHugh (Mark McHugh Real Estate), and Secretary, Katie Marble (Blue Sky Real Estate).

Directors for 2019 are: Marguerite Glover (Peter Black Real Estate); Carolyn Dawson (John L. Scott-Sequim); Paul Jones (Professional Realty Services); Butch Glover (Peter Black Real Estate); Judy Stirton (BrokersGroup), and Ed Sumpter (Blue Sky Real Estate). Leland Schwab of Schwab Realty, Inc. will serve as MLS chair.

Offers were installed by association executive Gina Valaske.

The event was also a time to acknowledge and honor several members for their efforts and contributions to the association and community at large. The following awards were presented: Community Service, Nell Clausen (RE/MAX Prime); Courage Under Fire, Deborah Norman (BrokersGroup); Realtor Achievement, Scott Gordon (John L. Scott), Michael McAleer (RE/MAX Prime) and Judy Stirton (BrokersGroup); Citizen of the Year, Magan Waldron (Olympic Peninsula Title Company); Realtor of the Year, Michael McAleer (RE/MAX Prime); Rookie of the Year, Chris Bonnelle (BrokersGroup); Affiliate of the Year, Kathi Larsen (Evergreen Home Loans). Tyler Conkle, Sequim Association of Realtors’ 2018 president, presented Katie Marble of Blue Sky Real Estate withthe President’s Choice Award.

SAR is a member of the Washington Realtors and the National Association of Realtors, with more than 225 local Realtor and Affiliate Members.
