The Klahhane Xcel Bronze and Silver Division gymnasts competed in the state championships held at Edmonds Community College on March 9-10.
On March 9, Mariah Traband scored 36.50 all-around points to place eighth in the Child B age group. Ava Harris placed 15th in the Senior B age group, scoring 35.0 all-around points. Lauren Cline and Scarlett Sullivan also qualified to state but were sidelined because of illnesses.
In Bronze Division on March 10, Layla Parker posted the highest finish with a 36.75 all-around points — good for fifth place in the Child D age group. Close behind were Kira Hartman with a 36.60 all-around total in the Junior A age group and Kenna Pittman who placed ninth in the Junior A division with 36.325 points. Leilah Franich (35.50 points) was 15th in the Junior B age group and Coralie Lewis (34.80) was 15th in the Child B age group. Ella Mote was sidelined with an illness and was unable to compete.
Klahhane’s Gold Division team competes in its state championship meet March 29-30 at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex in Kennewick.
