Golf event to benefit Boys & Girls club

The Dungeness Bay Seahawkers host a golf tourney starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, at SkyRidge Golf Course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway. Format is two-person teams/best ball. Cost is $50 per player; fee includes range balls and lunch. The tourney includes closest-to-pin, longest drive and putting contests. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club in Sequim.

Sequim hoops team hosts golf tourney

The Sequim Boys Fifth Grade Select basketball team hosts a fundraising golf tournament at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at SkyRidge Golf Course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway. Format is a four-person best ball scramble. Cost is $200 per team. The tourney features a 50-50 raffle for best putt and a meal after tourney play. International Women’s Golf Day at The Cedars

The Cedars at Dungeness Women’s golf group is hosting International Women’s Golf Day — the largest single day celebration of women’s golf — on Tuesday, June 4, at The Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road. The event includes a clinic from 4-6 p.m. Cost is $5; call the pro shop at 360-683-6344 to sign up. Space is limited to 24 participants.

Sequim High School’s track and field team’s pursuit of new pads for the pole vault pit got a boost with a $1,000 Thomas R. Brown Athletics Grant from California Casualty. California Casualty’s Michelle Hawkins presented the check on May 13. Sequim High Athletic Director Dave Ditlefsen said the new equipment is extremely important for student-athlete safety.
