The Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center, 610 N. Fifth Ave., will be offering a Water Safety Day educational experience for children ages 5-12 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, June 27.

This event is free. Children (and parents) will attend brief informative presentations on topics about swimming and sun safety.

SARC lifeguards will be demonstrating water rescues, including in-water backboarding, throughout the event.

Representatives from the Coast Guard Auxiliary also will be on hand to discuss proper lifejacket use and demonstrate lifejacket fitting.

Each “station” will take about 15 minutes and participants can attend one or all five stations in any order.

Each child will receive a water safety activity book and small toy.

Children and parents who attend at least two presentations may stay and swim from 1-3 p.m. Limit one free adult admission per child.
