“The Power of Small Things,” the new exhibition at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, brings 99 works — paintings, sculpture, fiber art, assemblage — together this Saturday, Aug. 17.
The show opens with a free, public reception that evening from 5-7 p.m. at the center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd. The art will stay on display through Sept. 29, with the gallery open with free admission from 11 a.m-5 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays.
Each piece of “Power” is 10 inches by 10 inches or smaller, which means the center can show off the work of more than 60 artists. The juried exhibition, which draws art from all over the United States, features creations by Susan Shaw, David Willis, Marian Morris and Kathy Cook of Sequim.
Starting Saturday, Aug. 17,
the fine arts center will hold a fundraising 50/50 raffle. Tickets, available at the center and at PAFAC.org, are $5. The winner, drawn after “The Power of Small Things” closes in September, will receive 50 percent of the total ticket sales.
In addition to the 5 p.m. opening on Aug. 17, a reception for Port Angeles Fine Arts Center members will be held at 4 p.m.
