On Saturday, Oct. 4, the barn dance hosted by Nash’s Organic Produce drew the 18th annual Clallam County Farm Tour to a close with live music from Spoonshine.

The Northwest musical group brought to life a packed dance floor at Nash’s with their high-energy, americana style tunes.

Nash’s farm was one of eight farms to participate in the Farm Tour designed and sponsored by the Washington State University Clallam County extension and the North Olympic Land Trust to bring together the community and celebrate the county’s agricultural roots. Activities at the different farms ranged from hayrides and live music to farming demonstration and without doubt a surplus of local food.

The Farm Tour reached its’ most successful turnout yet with an estimated 1,800 individuals to visit the variety of farms, Tom Sanford, executive director of the North Olympic Land Trust, said.

“To me the success of the Farm Tour really shows how much people around here value their farmland,” Sanford said.

During Nash’s barn dance, officials with the North Olympic Land Trust managed the beer and wine sales to fundraise for future preservation of local farmland within Clallam County and raised a net proceeds of $1,100.
