The Sequim School District has hired a new human resources director, bringing in Victoria Balint to assume the role vacated by Randy Hill in August.
Speaking after the Jan. 6 school board meeting, interim superintendent Rob Clark said that he was “excited to have her on board,” and said that she would be starting her job officially on Feb. 3 and will be in attendance of the first school board meeting of the month on the same day.
After she interviewed for the position in December, Clark mentioned at a board meeting on Dec. 16 that she was “very impressive.”
The HR director position became available in August after Hill’s departure, which came in the form of a negotiated separation agreement between himself and the school district.
PIO hired
The school district has also hired a new public information officer, Megan Lyke, who will start her position “very soon” according to Clark.
Lyke was working as the district office receptionist before accepting the new position.
“A lot of her early responsibility is going to be spreading the word about the upcoming bond issue,” Clark said.
The previous district community outreach coordinator, Hanna McAndie, is no longer in a communications role. Instead she will take over the McKinney-Vento position that was vacated in November when David Lyke resigned after running the program for nearly a year, along with continuing to run the district’s truancy program.
