The Pacific Coast Trio, a pairing of winds and piano, graces the Maier Hall at Peninsula College at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, part of the Maier Hall Concert Series.
The ensemble consists of oboist Thomas Gallant, flutist Jill Felber and pianist Dianne Frazer. They will perform Donizetti opera transcriptions and works by Richard Strauss, Benjamin Britten and Jacques Ibert.
At this event, the trio — hailing New York City, Los Angeles, and Baton Rouge — will perform the premiere of a new work by PC faculty composer David P. Jones.
General admission for the concert is $15, while student admission is $5. Season tickets are available for $40. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door, or in advance at bookaneer.pencol.edu/MerchList?ID=11646.

About the artists
Gallant is a first prize winner of the Concert Artists Guild International New York Competition, and one of few musicians to win the competition as an oboe soloist. His performances have taken him to New York City, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, to the Spoleto Festival in Italy and to the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center. He has appeared as guest soloist with the Kronos Quartet at the Ravinia Festival and has collaborated with flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal, with Cuarteto Casals from Spain, the Colorado, Tesla, Calder and Lark Quartets, Cuarteto Latinoamericano and with the Adaskin String Trio.
Felber is an internationally-acclaimed recording artist, dynamic flute recitalist, innovative chamber musician, and legendary contemporary music specialist. She has performed solo recitals, chamber music, and concertos on five continents and has held residencies in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, Mexico, France, Switzerland, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Brazil and the United States. Also a promoter of new music, she has inspired many composers to write solo and chamber works for her and for her flute duo ZAWA!, and is currently engaged in several commissioning projects.
Frazer is recognized globally as a premiere collaborative pianist. She has performed with a “who’s who” of international artists, and has performed in Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and Merkin Hall. She is on the faculty at Louisiana State University. She also serves as principal pianist for the National Flute Association, International Society of Bassists, the MTNA Southern Division, the Florida Flute Association, and among other international groups has been a pianist at the Oberstdorf Music Festival in Germany, World Bass Festival in Poland and ISI Florence in Italy.
