The Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge is looking for volunteers to assist visitors and staff. Primary duties include greeting visitors and providing information about the refuge’s trails and wildlife.

Additional opportunities include invasive species mitigation, habitat restoration, maintenance, beach clean-up and administration.

Refuge representatives say people can learn about nature, make new friends, help wildlife and more with the volunteer positions.

The refuge’s annual New Volunteer Training is set for 8 a.m.-noon Friday, April 3, at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 MacLeay Road. In addition, the refuge hosts its annual refresher for current volunteers from 1-3:30 p.m.

Training is a requirement for volunteering at Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge.

Lunch is provided.
