A number of Sequim-area community groups have made changes to their meeting calendars, seeking to stem the potential spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus have made changes.
Here is a listing of events cancellations/ postponements as of early this week:
Olympic Peninsula Paddlers
The Olympic Peninsula Paddlers have canceled their meeting and a presentation by kayaking adventurers David Crocker and Keri French set for 7:15-8:45 pm Wednesday, March 11, at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Sequim Ave.
“Our board of directors felt it was better to be safe than sorry and to follow the CDC directives,” Cathy Hathaway said.
Master Gardeners
The Thursday, March 12 Master Gardener Green Thumb Garden Tips Lecture Series will only be available via live stream until COVID-19 public health concerns are reduced, program officials said this week.

Olympic Driftwood Sculptors
The Olympic Driftwood Sculptors Art Show, originally set for March 28-29 at the Sequim Prairie Grange, has been canceled because of concerns of the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Olympic Peninsula Art Association
In light of recent CDC recommendations made in order to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19, the Olympic Peninsula Art Association (OPAA) is cancelling their March meetings, including the group’s March 12 board meeting and March 26 general membership meeting.
The OPAA board will continue working to accomplish impending plans of the Association, with the next General Membership Meeting to be determined. See sequimarts.org for updates.
