Sequim: Crazy Daze are here again

Organizers of the Sequim Irrigation Festival are trying to bring back a lost tradition. All day on Friday, May 13, merchants, employees and customers in Sequim city limits are encouraged to dress up crazily in honor of D.R. “Crazy” Callen, whose sanity other farmers doubted because Callen believed water from the Dungeness River could irrigate the valley via ditches.

The wackiness begins

7 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at the annual Crazy Daze breakfast for $10 at Sunland Country Golf Course, 109 Hilltop Drive. Skits and costumes are encouraged.
