Western Washington University’s Devin Andrews led the Clallam County Amateur from start to finish, fending off a charge from Meridian Valley’s Cole Reynolds to win Sunday evening.

Andrews, a Juanita High School product who played at the 3A Washington State Golf Tournament, shot a 7-under-par 209 over three days while Reynolds, an Auburn Mountainview product, came in second with a 5-under-par 211.

Andrews took a lead after day one with a 68 at Peninsula Golf and Country Club, while Reynolds was three shots down with a 71. Reynolds got to within one stroke of Andrews on Saturday by shooting a solid 68 at Sunland Golf Course.

But, Andrews shot a 71 Sunday at Cedars at Dungeness to hold Reynolds off, who shot a solid 72.

Winning the net score was Charles Lee of Chambers Bay Golf Club with a handicapped 8-under-par. Local golfer Derek Moore of SkyRidge Golf Course came in second in the net with a 4-under-par and Dennis Powell of Sunland Golf and Country Club and Scott Hendricks of Peninsula Golf and Country Club tied for third with a net 2-under-par.

Andrews and Lee share the biggest purse at $375 each.

Andrews had the best scores at Peninsula and 7 Cedars, while Reynolds had the top score at Sunland.

Lee had the best net scores at Peninsula (68) and 7 Cedars (68), while Lisa Chon of the Cedars at Dungeness Women’s Club had the best net at Sunland with a 66.

Andrews was the top competitor among the Flight 1 golfers with his 7-under-par 209. Winning Flight 2 was Lee with a 4-over-par. The Flight 3 winner was Moore with a 19-over-par 235. Winning Flight 4 was Tim Frost of the Tam O’Shanter Golf and Country Club in Bellevue with a 44-over-par 260.

In net scores, Andrews won Flight 1 with a 1-under-par, Lee won Flight 2 with an 8-under-par, Moore won Flight 3 with a 4-under-par and Powell won Flight 4 with a 2-under-par.

Collecting $300 purses were Reynolds, Moore and Frost. Jade Tisdale of Peninsula Golf and Country Club also won a $300 purse for coming in second in the Flight 2 net with a 4-over-par as the flight winner Lee had already collected a $300 purse as the gross winner of that flight.

Adam Shantz of Sunland and Gordy Nishimoto of the Auburn Golf Course each collected $275 purses for coming in second in the Flight 3 net with 9-over-pars. Flight 3 net winner Moore had already collected a purse for being the gross winner of Flight 3.

A total of 111 golfers participated in the three-day tournament with a total purse of $6,950.
