Thanks for the support

My husband and I would like to thank all of our friends here in Sequim for their wonderful support during a difficult time. About six months ago we had to leave our home in Sequim with just the clothes on our backs and live in an ICU room for almost two months for a heart transplant.

During this time friends sent us care packages to the hospital, drove all the way to Seattle and brought us clothes, toiletries and other things to make our time more endurable.

Our Soroptimist sisters sent us cards and encouragement. Other friends in the Sequim community visited me to give support and lend an ear and their time.

Members of my fitness studio, which I have since had to close, texted us, phoned and emailed more words of encouragement and love.

Our studio landlord was most gracious and supportive.

Even now that we are home and selling our studio equipment, people who come by all offer words of encouragement and love.

I also want to thank our friends in Solana. They kept our house in good order, called us and generally looked out for our home. Thank you to another friend who temporarily took in our cat.

We are so lucky and blessed to have chosen Sequim as our home. It is a wonderful caring community. Thank you all you kind and generous-of spirit friends in Sequim for your support, love, and understanding during this time.

Take-over thanks

Sequim Prairie Grange would like to thank all those who attended the Mariner Café’s “Take-Over the Mariner” on Monday July 20. We want to give a very big “thank you” to owner Marie Dickinson for going over and beyond to let the Grange take over her restaurant for the evening. The food was great and the people made it extra special.

Since Buck Ellard could not play or sing, he played his music on a CD and instead was able to serve the customers and really get to talk to everyone. It was a fun and great dinner experience.

Again, thank you to all for your support.
