Early morning fire guts vacant Forks movie theater

A fire that broke out about 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22 has burned to the ground the Olympic Theatre at 25 E. Division St. in downtown Forks. Firefighters from Clallam County Fire District #1 fought the fire, which ignited about a half block from their company fire house. The fire reportedly started in the rear of the building which has been a landmark in Forks for decades.

At 7 a.m. the fire (pictured above) was being monitored by firefighters and the Forks Police Department as it continued to burn, with building owner Rich Hsu consulting with the firefighters and Forks Police Acting Police Chief Lloyd Lee.
