Sequim elementary school fifth-graders got a fun send-off to summer and the start of middle school next fall.
At Greywolf Elementary on June 16, the last in-person day for both A and B sections, each fifth grader was announced and took “selfies” with their fifth grade teacher(s). They also walked around the playfield on the final day for all staff to say goodbye.
The next day, Helen Haller Elementary, hosted a drive-through for families. School staff cheered as they drove through and each student had an opportunity to take selfies in a special picture frame and with staff, and to receive a special goodie bag from their teachers.
Sequim School District reports 188 full-time enrolled students finished fifth grade between the two schools.
