Olympic Medical Center welcomes Edward Katime is joining the Olympic Medical Physicians’ primary care team, Olympic Medical Center representatives announced recently.

Katime joins Olympic Medical Physicians (OMP) after five years as a full-time hospitalist in both New York and California, and he will see patients as part of the team of providers at the OMP Primary Care Clinic in Port Angeles.

“Being trained as a Family Medicine physician is valuable to help organize patients’ healthcare needs,” Katime said. “My experience as a hospitalist provides additional knowledge in recognizing and treating serious conditions.”

Katime received his undergraduate degree from University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, where he studied science and anthropology. After earning his bachelor’s of science degree, he attended medical school at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Penn., earning his doctor of medicine degree in 2010.

After completing residency in family medicine at the Valley Consortium for Medical Education, an affiliate of UC David School of Medicine in Modesto, Calif., Katime practiced in California and New York before deciding to make a move to the Pacific Northwest.

“I was drawn to the Olympic Peninsula due to its sheer beauty and myriad of outdoor activities available,” he said.

Katime said he is looking forward to treating families here on the Peninsula.

“I strive to be friendly, a good listener and spend the time needed to work with my patients in a teamwork fashion to improve their health,” he said.
