The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center is hosting an opening reception on Friday, Aug. 13, for the new exhibit “Resilient & Creative: A National Juried Exhibition,” and all community members are invited to join the festivities.
Members are invited for the first hour for a special VIP Member Hour with a curated presentation by gallery/program director Sarah Jane at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend from 6-8 p.m.
The event is free.
“Resilient & Creative” includes nearly 80 artworks by 42 different artists from throughout the United States. The Olympic Peninsula is well represented with Sequim artists David Willis, Ryoko Toyama, Allyne Lawson and Mary DePaolo, as well as Port Angeles artists Carmen Czachor, Laura Garrard, Carmen Germain, Monica Gutierrez-Quarto, Pamela Hastings, Loreen Matsushima, Rachel McElhose, Eva and Roger McGinnis, Ellie Polk and Jodi Riverstone, and Port Townsend artists Helga Winter, Elisabeth Mention, Meg Kaczyk and Judith Bird.

Masks are required for all attendees at all times in the gallery. Those who are fully vaccinated may remove their masks in the courtyard if able to maintain 6 feet of social distance.
“Resilient & Creative” will remain on display at the historic Esther Webster Gallery during regular gallery hours from Aug. 14-Sept. 26.
