Sequim’s Wolves hosted a double-dual meet on Sept. 23, earning a split with Kingston and North Kitsap.
The Wolves (3-2) topped a shorthanded Kingston squad 99-44 and fell to a deep Vikings team, 103-62.
Mia Coffman topped the field the 500 free with a 5:42.47 mark, a state 2A meet qualifier.
Sequim’s Hi’ilei Robinson topped swimmers from both schools in the 100 free with a 1:03.53 finish, while Lauren Sundin splashed to a win in the 100 backstroke in 1:13.40 — both district meet qualifying times.
Coffman added a district meet qualifying time in the 200 free (2:09), as did Robinson in both 50 free (28.40).
Melisa Nelson was about a tenth of a second off a district qualifying time in the 100 butterfly (1:18.10).
All three Sequim relays posted West Central District meet-qualifying times.
Kingston brought just six swimmer to the pool while North Kitsap had a bevy of swimmers,earning five individual wins and sweeping first place in the three relays.
Wolves splash Eagles
A deeper, faster Sequim swim squad overwhelmed 1A host Klahowya on Sept. 21, as the Wolves took first place in all but three events.
Coffman picked up two individual wins while teammates Nelson, Sundin and Natalie Cross and added one win apiece.
The Wolves also swept first place finishes in all three relays, each with district meet-qualifying time.
Coffman clocked in the 200 individual medley in 2:32.89, less than three seconds off a state 2A meet qualifying time. She added another district qualifying time in the 100 free with a 1:00.21 finished, followed by Robinson in another district qualifying time (1:03.01).
Sundin just missed a district qualifying time after winning the 50 free (29.69). Nelson won the 100 breaststroke (1:30.69) while Cross topped the field in the 100 backstroke (1:24).
Caley Haney (100 butterfly, 200 free) and Loren Swaney (500 free) earned Klahowya’s three wins.

Sequim hosts East Jefferson on Oct. 5 and Port Angeles on Oct. 7. The Wolves are at Olympic on Oct. 14, and swim at the Last Chance Meet in Port Angeles on Oct. 26, the final tune-up for the postseason.
