There is no school April 4-8, for Spring Break. Classes resume April 11.

GREYWOLF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Greywolf students and families of Greywolf Elementary raised more than $9,000 during the PTA Read-a-Thon, and logged more than 29,000 minutes of reading.

Grywolf Parent-Teacher Association meetings are going back to in-person meetings. The PTA meets the third Wednesday of the month, at 7 p.m. at the Greywolf library, 171 Carlsborg Road. See greywolfpta.com or facebook.com/GreywolfPTA.

HELEN HALLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Lisa Beaver’s fourth-grade class had Westside Pizza for lunch to celebrate those students who passed their multiplication facts to 12.

In Success Academy, students read to find characters experiencing emotional situations and/or displaying courage and kindness.

For Read Across America, Ione Marcy’s first-graders celebrated the day by reading Dr. Seuss books and creating their own “Cat in the Hat.” The second grade classes had a full day of reading fun. Kristin Mooney’s class went camping and visited different camp grounds to learn new things or be crafty. Then they went back to their tents for quiet time. Doreen Minard’s class created “Thing One and Thing Two” hats. Tiffany Malean and Kerry Ladd’s life skills class learned about Dr. Seuss and made hats to honor Dr. Seuss’ birthday!

Track and field at SMS starts April 11.

SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOL

Talent Show auditions sign-ups are happening now. Students can audition today, Wednesday, March 16, during both lunches in the cafeteria, or after school in the auditorium on Wednesday, March 16, and Thursday, March 17 at 3 p.m. Sign up in the main office. The Talent Show is at 6 p.m. Friday, March 25, and 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, in the auditorium.

SHS is offering the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Career Exploration Test at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, in the SHS library. ASVAB takers need to be present at 8:15 a.m. Priority registration will be given to seniors. Those interested in taking the ASVAB can sign up in the counseling office.

“A Night in Vegas,” Sequim High’s Junior Prom, will be held 7-10 p.m. Saturday, March 26. Dance requests and tickets are available now. Purchase tickets from Mrs. Ulm for $10 through March 19, or $15 next week (March 21-25) and $20 at the door. VIP dance tickets ($20) include an express entrance to the dance and a snack bag. There will be a limited amount of VIP tickets sold and only available this week. Guest dance requests are also limited; pick one up from Mrs. Lancheros.
