Thursday, Oct. 24, and Friday, Oct. 25, are the United Way of Clallam County’s 24th annual Restaurant Days. Restaurants in Port Angeles, Sequim and Forks will donate a portion of their proceeds to United Way. “During your breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can help your community by eating at your favorite restaurant or stopping in for coffee or dessert. Don’t forget to thank the restaurant for their support of the many agencies that will receive United Way funding,” said Buck Gieseke, United Way Campaign chairman.

Restaurant Day is a way of highlighting the United Way campaign and the commitment to local community of this particular small business segment. Gieseke noted, “Each year restaurants and other small businesses all over Clallam County make generous contributions in support of United Way; this helps improve the quality of life within our community. Going out to eat is also a great way for each of us to support the restaurants in our community.”

Sequim restaurants — Alder Wood Bistro, Baja Cantina and The Oak Table.

Port Angeles restaurants — Baskin Robbins, Bella Italia, Cafe New Day, Café Garden, C’est Si Bon, Chestnut Cottage, First Street Haven, Fiesta Jaliscos, Frugals, Jasmine Bistro, Joshua’s, Michael’s Seafood and Steakhouse, Necessities and Temptations Espresso, Toga’s Soup House and Traylor’s.

United Way is halfway through the annual fall fundraising campaign and hopes to raise $1 million.

Currently the campaign total is at $162,000, 16 percent of the $1 million goal.
