Girls tennis: Sequim edges Vikings, improve to 3-0

A mostly inexperienced Sequim girls tennis team is still undefeated, though it needed a couple of clutch wins to stay unblemished in a 4-3 win at North Kitsap on March 21.

The Wolves (3-0) swept all three singles matches and clinched the victory when Jordan Hegtvedt and Malory Morey earned a three-set win over NK’s Amber Amos and Kate Ryan (6-3, 4-6, 7-5).

Sequim’s Kendall Hastings survived a three-set match against Teegan DeVries (6-1, 3-6, 6-2) and lefty Allie Gale added a 6-4, 6-2 win over Elaina Soboleski.

Sequim’s Aidyn Shingleton earned Play of the Match honors for her 6-4, 6-1 win over Viking Ava Obernberg.
